Where’s the problem?

Tap any part of the roof. Then turn the weather up.

Most leaks start at one of a handful of places. Here’s what goes wrong at each, what to look for from the ground, and what it typically costs to put right.

What we do

Four jobs. Done properly, every time.

A full strip and re-cover when patching stops being worth it — new felt or membrane, new battens, and tiling or slating back to match (or upgrade) what was there.

Typical price
£6,500 – £18,500
On site
3–5 days
Guarantee
25 years, written
  • ✓ Full strip of the old covering, felt and battens
  • ✓ Skip and waste removal included in the price
  • ✓ New breathable membrane, not the old sarking felt
  • ✓ Ridge, hip and valley detailing done properly, not just re-bedded
  • ✓ A walk-round with you before we leave site

Most leaks are a small, findable fault — a slipped tile, failed flashing, a cracked ridge. We diagnose properly before quoting, rather than replacing whatever’s nearest.

Typical price
£220 – £900

Guarantee
2 years on the repair
  • ✓ A proper inspection first — no guessed quotes
  • ✓ Photos of the actual fault before any work starts
  • ✓ Like-for-like tile and slate matching where possible
  • ✓ A written note on what caused it, so it doesn’t happen again

GRP fibreglass and single-ply systems for extensions, garages and dormers — laid by the crew that quoted it, not a subcontracted specialist we’ve never worked with.

  • ✓ GRP fibreglass or single-ply, whichever suits the job
  • ✓ Correct falls built in, so water actually drains
  • ✓ Trims and upstands finished properly, not just sealed over

The detailing that decides whether a roof actually stays dry — lead work, fascias, soffits and full guttering runs.

What “done properly” means

Five layers. Every one of them new.

A re-roof isn’t new tiles on top of old problems. Keep scrolling and we’ll take one apart.

  1. Rafters

Checked end to end first. Anything soft or split is treated or strengthened before a single layer goes on top.

  2. Breathable membrane

Replaces old bitumen felt: keeps rain out while letting the loft breathe, so condensation doesn’t rot the timbers.

  3. Battens

New treated, graded timber, set to the exact gauge the tile needs — the spacing that stops water tracking back.

  4. Tiles

Every tile mechanically fixed to the current wind-uplift standard, BS 5534 — not just hung on its nibs.

  5. Ridge

Dry-fixed with clips and seals, so there’s no mortar left to crack and wash out in ten years.

Why speed matters

Homeowners hire whoever answers first — not whoever’s best.

The MIT Lead Response Management Study found that businesses which reply first win the job roughly 78% of the time — not the cheapest, not the most reviewed, whoever answers first. That’s the whole reason this is built the way it is.

A photo, your postcode, a line about the job — WhatsApp, a call, or the instant estimate.

A same-day fixed price

A written quote back the same day — not a callback that comes next week, if it comes at all.

Why homeowners choose us

The bit that doesn’t show up in a quote PDF.

Anyone can promise a good roof. What actually protects you is what happens if something’s wrong three winters from now.

  • ✓ Fully insured — public liability and every roofer on the job
  • ✓ No subcontracted labour — the crew that quotes it is the crew on the roof
  • ✓ Fixed price agreed before a single tile comes off
  • ✓ Daily photo updates while the job’s running, so you’re never guessing
